Community Climate Resilience Programme

We believe in building community strength through nurturing eco-social aspects of climate resilience and well-being

It includes emotional processing, connection to place, community ecological heritage & memory, traditional ecological knowledge, art, embracing differences, empowerment, ethics, values, and worldviews.

We believe that focussing on these elements of resilience in local communities (urban, peri-urban, rural, mixed) as part of nurturing community-led climate resilience and adaptation programs could lead the way in developing regenerative cultures for the future of all species on the planet.

Research

We are currently developing a theoretical framework, focusing on the psychosocial elements of community climate resilience and wellbeing, and how it applies to local, place-based climate adaptation programs.

This is a collaborative process with partners, which will lead to a facilitated dialogue with the wider community of changemakers, to incorporate collective wisdom, experience and knowledge base of organizations and groups who have been engaged in community resilience building.

Kaluveli Eco-heritage Fellowship in Community Climate Resilience & Adaptation

A youth fellowship that engages diverse communities from our local bioregion in Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry, by providing spaces for the youth to connect and explore local traditional ecological heritage & knowledge, ecocentric perspectives & indigenous worldviews, emotional resilience, global ecological and climate crises, local geographies, history of natural resource use, local environmental issues and predicted climate change effects in the near future; to co-design projects and implement them together as pathways for community climate adaptation and resilience.

We are currently in the research, design, and fundraising stage of this project. If you would like to know more or want to contribute to this project, Contact Us
